Have you ever had one of those nights when you just can't fall asleep? Regardless of the fact that you are dead tired and should be able to catch some z's for at least 12 - 14 hours?

I had one of those for the past two nights. The first night I just put my Zune on and ignored everything else.

The second night, however, I remembered something that Konan Stephens had said last week at SNED Senior High Camp. It was something along that lines of sometimes we get so caught up in talking to God [prayer] that we forget to allow Him time to speak back to us.

So I prayed for a bit and then was like "ok God. Your turn." (don't laugh, it was like 1am...I wasn't fully cognizant.)

Anyway, I gave Him some time and He used it. He had placed a few people on my heart recently and during that minute or two of silence He said something to the effect of...in your busy days, you may forget that you promised to pray for someone. Or you may push aside the thought to pray for your family [brothers & sisters in Christ], but here in the quiet is your chance.

After that, I spent around an hour praying. For specific people, for our district, etc. I fell back asleep somewhere in there, and didn't wake up until ~9am.

Now the lyrics to one of Phil Wickham's songs keeps popping into my head.

"Here in the quiet, speak to me now. My ears are open..."

So I'm not sure what I had hoped to accomplish with this post, but hopefully it has encouraged you and given you some food for thought. :-]
